Community
Day
The Township of Pine Parks and Recreation Commission and
the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company co-sponsor an annual
Community Day celebration. This year's special event will
be held at Pine Community Park across from the Township
of Pine Municipal Building on Pearce Mill Road on July
24, 2010. A variety of entertainment performs on stage
throughout the afternoon and evening hours. There is also
plenty of good food, crafts, and much more. At dusk, we
close out the event with a spectacular fireworks display.
All are welcome to attend "Pine
Community Day - The Event of the Summer".
Easter
Egg Hunt
The Township of Pine Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Pine
Community Park on April 16, 2011. It is free to residents
and all ages are welcome. There is a $3.00 non-resident

Farmers'
Market
The
2010 Farmers' Market at Pine Community Park opened on
June 3. 2010. Now on the Red Belt/Community Center side
of the Park, the Farmers' Market provides tasty treats,
fresh produce, and beautiful plants and flowers from returning
favorites such as Soergel's Farm Market, Nellie's Sandwiches,
Mish Farms Meat Market, Christoff's Farm and Greenhouses,
The Alaska Wild Salmon Company, Oak Hill Farm Nursery,
and Pisarcik Greenhouse. When you stop by be sure to try
out products from some our new vendors, such as the pasta
and sauces from Callifonte Foods and the delicious treats
from SweetHouse Bake Shop, too! The Pine Township Parks
& Recreation Commission is dedicated to making this
the most popular and successful Farmers' Market in the
area. Our goals for the Market are multiple, and include
assisting local farmers and producers in marketing directly
to the consumer, improving the variety, freshness, taste,
and nutritional value of produce available in the Pine
Township area, and generally enhancing the quality of
life in Pine by increasing a sense of community within
the Township. The Farmers' Market at Pine Community Park
takes place on Thursdays from 3 PM - 6 PM, from June 3,
2010 through at least September 24, 2010. Please note
that due to the seasonal nature of some of the goods being
sold, it is possible that not all of the producers will
be there every week. Thank you for supporting the Farmers'
Market at Pine Community Park! Don't miss Third
Thursdays at the Farmers' Market - special events
such as cooking demostrations, free give aways, Kids'
Day and much more!
Movies
in the Park
Movies
in the Park are shown in Pine Community Park twice each
month in June, July and August. Movies are sponsored by
Billco Volkswagen-Mazda and Friends of Pine Community
Parks. There is no charge for admission and refreshments
are available. PARENTS!!! Note this is an un-supervised
activity. Children, 12 and younger MUST be accompanied
by an adult. Summer 2010 schedule is as follows with
all movie times beginning at dusk:

Halloween
Party
The
Township of Pine Parks and Recreation Commission and Friends
of Pine Community Parks sponsors a Halloween
Party at Pine Community Park. The party is from 2:00-5:00
PM. Activities for children will be crafts, petting zoo,
train rides, prizes, story telling, hayride & a bonfire.
The Children's Costume Contest is at 4:30 PM. All proceeds
benefit the development of Pine Community Park. This year's
party will be held on October 30, 2010.
Cookies
& Caroling
The
Township of Pine Cookies & Caroling Event will be held at Pine Community Center on December 4,
2010, at 9:30 AM.
